Hraboš polní (Microtus arvalis) je základní kořistí pro řadu predátorů. Běžným biotopem hrabošů jsou pastviny, pole a louky. Aktivní noru poznáme podle trusu na cestičkách a okusu rostlin. V okolí nory můžeme také spatřit malé kousky okousané trávy.
